Environmental Science
“Wise men speak because they have something to say; fools because they have to say something.” Plato
When it comes to the environment and its preservation for future generations, I desire to shape ‘wise’ men and women. I believe the perfect platform to do so is to teach Environmental Science to these young minds that can truly make a difference.
My experience as a teacher spans almost three decades. I’ve taught; Agricultural Science, Biology, Physics, Chemistry and a combination in Integrated Science. My true passion however, is in imparting information about Environmental Science. It takes us away from the typical classroom and provides opportunities to examine and implement most of the areas we will discuss during our lessons.
Practical analysis, evaluation and implementation is encouraged for the best performance, especially as it relates to your Internal Assessment.
As we are on an online platform, my students will be required to attend at least two field trips to collect personal data for analysis and discussion. Additionally, I encourage you to become a Jamaican Activist for the environment by preparing a video on a chosen topic that you are most passionate about. It’s your first step in making a difference.
I look forward to working with you who have something to say.
Regards
Lisa Powell
Environmental Activist and Lecturer.
